The latest craze for branded competitions is via twitter, and to be honest, it’s not suprising.

If you work in any sort of marketing industry, you probably know that launching a competition around anything can be a total nightmare. Getting the terms and conditions through legal, making sure the prize is confirmed, that you announce the winner on time, that the data is collected efficiently, the list goes on and on.

But with twitter, all the hassle is taken away. Just post your competition, ask people to follow and retweet and you can give away tickets or whatever to your heart’s content 😉

I’ll do my best to keep you posted about the latest twitter competitions here. ASOS is a prime candidate for starters, other brands have so far included BlackBerry and Becks beer. So, in that vein, here we go…

Marie Claire UK (@marieclaireuk) just announced a twitter competition that will begoing live later today. If you follow me (@tekstyled) I re-tweeted already. The competition launches at 3pm and will be giving away tickets to the star-studded DVD launch of StreetDance 3D. The likes of Diveristy, Flawless and George Sampson are likely to be in attendance (since they’re in the film) plus loads more celebs after a freebie as well.
