selfridges going social.

It was announced earlier this week that the BIO agency (@theBIOagency) have won the digital account for Selfridges, tasked with a particular focus on social media. This is awesome news.

Selfridges were unfortunately one of those retailers who took their time getting online with shopping services, blogging and all things digital. They’ve done a good job now they there; the website is well built, easy to navigate and nicely designed. Where they’ve fallen down – so far – is on social media presence. Hopefully that will now be remedied.

Selfridges do have a social presence: @selfridges and Facebook/Selfridges, and it’s not bad exactly – definitely getting better. But with the BIO agency on board, who specialise in apps and frankly some damn cool digital wizardry and wordsmithery, we should start to see the kind of stylish content we’d expect from London’s leading department store.

I, for one, can’t wait to see what they come up with.
